Biography
Prof. Sayed Mahmoud Moursi Said is currently a professor at Fayoum University, Egypt. Previously, he held the position of Head of the Geography Department at Fayoum University in Egypt, where he was appointed as a full professor in 2017. Dr. Moursi completed his post-doctoral studies in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) at Oklahoma University in the United States from 2008 to 2009.
Dr. Moursi has been awarded a grant from Qatar University as the principal investigator for the CHSS/seed funding support for 2016–2017. He has also published numerous scientific research papers, including Geotourism in Qatar, published by Springer Nature in May 2023, and Geomorphology of Janan Island on the Northwest Coast of Qatar State, published by the Journal of Namibian Studies in May 2023. In addition, he has published research on topics such as historical variability and feedbacks among land cover, stream power, and channel geometry along the lower Canadian River floodplain in Oklahoma, published by Wily in 2012.
Dr. Moursi’s academic contributions extend beyond his role as a professor, as he was a member of the editorial board of the Arabic Language, Literature, and Culture journal published by the Science Publishing Group in the United States from January 21, 2022, to January 21, 2024. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several scientific journals. During his tenure at Fayoum University, Dr. Moursi received the Incentivized Fayoum University Award for Promotion as well as the prize for excellence in international scientific publishing.
