The present research work deals to assess water quality with reference to physico-chemical property of creeks located in Surat city, Gujarat. Water quality was checked for the parameters like pH, temperature, chloride, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and silicate. Samples were collected from three sites during the month of October-2012 to March-2013. Pearson correlation was applied to express relation between various parameters. The study reveals that water may be contaminated due to the industrial effluent, sewage waste water and other organic pollutants.

The Kopili Formation forms the topmost part of the Eocene Sequence of Upper Assam Shelf. This formation is characterized by alternating bands of argillaceous and arenaceous sediments. The sandstone are mainly composed of quartz, lithic fragments with meager amount of feldspar and cemented by calcareous and ferruginous cements. The sandstone’s of this formation generally contain higher amount of matrix and rock-fragment and as such are classified as Sublith- and Lithic Arenite to Lithic Greywacke. The heavy minerals recorded are zircon, tourmaline, rutile, garnet, hornblende, enstatite, epidote, andalusite, kyanite, muscovite, tremolite and opaque. Sillimanite, apatite, augite, chlorite, hypersthene, fluorite, monazite, titanite and staurolite are also recorded in small amount. The IR and XRD study confirms the presence of kaolinite, montmorillonite, illite and chlorite. Various provenance-interpreting parameters reveal that the sediments were derived from mixed provenance and recycled orogen. Dominance of kaolinite and montmorillonite towards the northeastern side and sparse occurrence of the montmorillonite along with illite towards the southwestern part of the study area indicate the southward marine regression took place during Kopili time. The Electro-log patterns of different oil wells also support the view of a deltaic environment in the southwestern part, which also extended towards the northeastern part of the study area with marine invasions in the form of oscillating sea. From the study of the diagenetic changes of the sandstone of the Kopili Formation it can be concluded that it losses its porosity due to extensive quartz replacement, deformation and dissolution of rock-fragments.

In the turbulent scenario that the corporate world operates much effort are being put to ensure sustainability of the organization. The once merry time singers are blowing a whistle to ensure organizational alertness to meet this demand. Once the great orators are now being turning to good communicators as the stakeholders are becoming more aware of their rights and the impact organization are having directly and indirectly on them.
If we go by the much used cliché, charities begin at home and apply it to the corporate world. Than that would surely means to change internally to reflect externally. And who would be in a better position to do this than the HRM department of any organization. Playing a central role in the organizational structure and linking all the other departments HR managers can play an instrumental role in making their organizations more aware about their social and environmental responsibilities. Holding an important power to exert over key processes and systems HR department can actually guide the organization towards sustainable practices that ensures employee engagement, employer branding and attracting & retaining key talent. Rather than using the HR department as a band-aid solution for the growing pressure to adopt CSR activities organisations should focus to cultivate the latent capability of HR department and the role it can play to use CSR activities as a competitive advantage.

Gratitude is a moral, actively pro-social and emotive expression where one acknowledges a gift, recognizes the value of the gift and appreciates the intention of the donor. The present paper is an attempt to develop some skills to cultivate gratitude. Gratitude has very significant implication on the life satisfaction and subjective well-being of an individual. Despite such significance, positive emotions like gratitude and the strengths of life has been getting less importance in scientific psychological study. So, present paper is an effort to bridge such gaps in Indian context. Present study highlights that gratitude can enhance social well-being as a moral barometer, moral reinforce and moral motivator and for moral repentance. Gratitude plays a critical role in happiness of an individual. Therefore, it is necessary to develop certain skills to teach gratitude in scientific way not only as a moral virtue. The present study shows through experimental treatment on the students of Mahapurusha Srimants Sankardeva University that gratitude is skill based and can be taught and learnt effectively.

In Computational investigation of Vortex Induced Vibrations (VIV) and Vortex Shedding characteristics of an elastically mounted two cylinders system in tandem arrangement has been done. The cylinders withtwo degree of freedomwere allowed to vibrate in both in-line and cross flow directions. The cylinders with a mass ratio (ratio of mass of cylinder and mass of fluid displaced by cylinder), m* = 3 with frequency ratios (ratio of natural frequency in x and y direction), 1 ≤ fr ≤ 2, and different reduced velocity, U* values ranging from 4 to 10 have been studied. The simulation was conducted for incompressible laminar flow at Reynolds Number 160 with longitudinal gap ratio (L/D) 3. The Reynolds number is based on the diameter of cylinder (D) and free stream velocity (U). The numerical simulation was performed using finite volume method (FVM) by solving 2D Navier Strokes Equation with SIMPLE pressure velocity coupling scheme using Block Structured Quadrilateral Grid with pressure based solver in ANSYS Fluent. The interacting vortices producing vibration on the two cylinders were studied by calculating the hydrodynamic force coefficients, oscillating frequency, amplitude of vibration andthe trajectory of both the cylinders..

Among the different routes of administration, the oral route of administration continues to be the most preferred route due to various advantages including ease of ingestion, avoidance of pain, versatility and most importantly patient compliance. The different dosage forms include tablets and capsules. Recently immediate release tablets have started gaining popularity and acceptance as a drug delivery system, mainly because they are easy to administer and lead to better patient compliance. They are also a tool for expanding markets, extending product life cycles and generating opportunities. Immediate drug release dosage forms disintegrate rapidly after administration with enhanced rate of dissolution. The basic approach used in development tablets is the use of superdisintegrants like Cross linked Polyvinylpyrrolidone or crospovidone (Polyplasdone), Sodium starch glycolate (Primogel, Explotab), carboxymethylcellulose (Croscarmellose) etc. These superdisintegrants provide instantaneous disintegration of tablet after administration in stomach.

A study was carried out to characterize the native small sized Hill cattle found in Pithoragarh district considering the importance of giving due emphasis to well adapted indigenous germ plasm developed through intensive selection over many years so as to formulate suitable breeding strategy in the state. A total number of randomly selected 04 blocks and 20 villages were taken up for the present study in Pithoragarh district. The population of hill cattle was more than the crossbred cows. The coat colour was found as off-white in 46.16% animals, red in 33.79% animals and black in 19.97% animals. The maximum numbers of animals were with white skin (46.16%), black or black & white muzzle (64.85%), black or black and white eyelids, black switch of tail, black hooves and black muffle. The values in case of milking cows for heart girth, body length, height at withers, paunch girth, length of ear, tail length and size of horns were found as 147.68±0.43, 90.85±0.17, 99.13 ±0.11, 153.19±0.39, 17.02±0.13, 92.55±0.13 and 8.74±0.14, respectively. The average values for age at first oestrous (months), oestrous cycle duration (days), age at first mating (months), age at first calving(months), number of service/conception, calving interval(days) and age of mating in males(months) were 41.60±0.31, 24.30±0.27, 42.70±0.30, 52.7±0.30, 1.77±0.09, 432.35±1.24 and 37.32±0.18, respectively.

In this paper we are consider an effect of porous medium on a flow of Non Newtonian (Walter’s liquid model B) liquid embedded with symmetrically distribution uniform, non conduction, solid, spherical dust particles in the presence of uniform magnetic field applied transversely to the field flow near an oscillatory inclined plane has been reported to discuss the velocity of the liquid and the dust particles along with skin friction on the liquid and the dust particles on the plane. The study explains the effect of porosity of the natural convective flow on velocity and temperature profiles.

Lean management principles have been used effectively in manufacturing companies for decades, particularly in Japan. The lean principles have been now successfully applied to the delivery of health care over the last few years . Lean thinking begins with driving out waste so that all work adds value and serves the customer’s needs. Identifying value-added and non-value-added steps in every process is the beginning of the journey toward lean operations. Influenced by the work of Womack and Jones, Lean in health care as “an organization’s cultural commitment to applying the scientific method to designing, performing, and continuously improving the work delivered by teams of people, leading to measurably better value for patients and other stakeholders.” In order for lean principles to take root, hospital must first work to create an organizational culture that is receptive to lean thinking. The commitment to lean must start at the very top of the organization, and all staff should be involved in helping to redesign processes to improve flow and reduce waste. Lean is different from the other quality based models because of its value stream approach. Lean thinking is built on the plan– do– check–act cycle of CQI and transforms waste. There are similarities as well as differences of health care from manufacturing. As such, I believe lean principles when applied throughout an organization, can have a positive impact on productivity, cost, quality, and timely delivery of health care services.

Wireless sensor network consists of energy-constrained nodes with limited computing and communicating capabilities. Routing in Wireless sensor network (WSN) is the area where energy of the nodes can be conserved to prolong the lifetime of the overall network. There exist some routing protocols, out of which clustering protocols has prove energy efficient because network is divided into clusters and the leader of the cluster is responsible for routing the data to sink after removing the redundant data and all other nodes need to forward data till their cluster heads. The problem with the existing protocol is, all the nodes in the network are eligible for becoming cluster head and cluster head at the border of the network may die soon because the communication cost to the sink will be more. In critical field surveillance applications we expect nodes at border area live longer, so we don’t allow nodes in the outer zone to become cluster head. In proposed scheme, we divide network into inner zone area network and outer zone area network. The results have show that the lifetime of the network is prolonged because nodes at the border die slowly.

The overall speed of execution of a task, which is considerably reduced due to the typical limitations of mobile devices can be efficaciously increased by aggregating the capabilities of distributed handhelds. Through an Ad-Hoc Network, task and data parallelism can be achieved, thus providing potentially faster solutions and reduced battery drain. Grid computing is basically a type of parallel and distributed system that enables sharing, selection, and aggregation of geographically distributed autonomous resources. As the number of participating devices in the grid increase, the computation time is reduced significantly. This paper proposes a system that uses the most popular smartphone OS “Android”, which is based on the Linux platform and prove the fact that the total computational time is indeed reduced under this implementation, as compared to local computation on a single device.

Opportunistic networks are the evolved version of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET). The opportunistic networking beholds the critical review of the research field on MANETs. After more than a long time of research in this field, this promising technology still has not entered the mass market. One of the main reasons of this is the lack of a practical approach to the design of infrastructure-less multi-hop ad hoc networks. In opportunistic networks, mobile nodes are able to communicate with each other even if there is no route present to connect. Moreover, no nodes has the access to any knowledge about the network topology, which is the necessary part in traditional MANET routing protocols. Routes are built dynamically, when messages are to be exchanged between the sender and the destination.

In this paper we designed a Reed Solomon i.e RS(255,249) structure for wireless communication using VHDL tool. RS codes are systematic linear block codes used to detect and correct burst data errors. RS code has strong error correcting capability than other linear block codes with the same coding efficiency and it does not require a back channel.The Galois field arithmetic is used for encoding of reed Solomon codes. simulation result shows high efficiency,high reliability and low circuit complexity with good coding performance.

Work life and personal life are inter-connected and interdependent. Spending more time in office, dealing with clients and the pressure of job can interfere and affect the personal life, sometimes making it impossible to even complete the household chores. On the other hand, personal life can also be demanding if you have a kid or aging parents, financial problems or even problems in the life of a dear relative. It can lead to absenteeism from work, creating stress and lack of concentration at work. This paper is an attempt against the highly increasing work hours that Indian organizations seem to demand and expect in the course of time and what problems are faced by employees working in BPO’s and how they can be encountered. The BPO industry is positive impact on the society by offering indirect employment and satisfies individual level benefit at large. but have adverse effect on work life of workforce where family issues become top priority to be resolved as employee can’t give enough time to his/her family.

Software systems, like web applications, are often used to provide reliable online services such as banking, shopping, social networking, etc., to users. The increasing use of such systems has led to a high need for assuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of user data. SQL Injection Attacks (SQLIAs) is one of the major security threats to web applications. It allows attackers to get unauthorized access to the back-end database consisting of confidential user information. This is an attacking method that aims the data stored in a database through the firewall that shield it. The poor input validation in code and website administration leads SQL injection to attack the web resource. This proposed system exhibit a dynamic method to detect and prevent SQL Injection from malicious web users who wants to access any resource in web related application. To detect malicious attack and prevent malicious users from accessing web resources, this system uses an effective SQL Query processing based on XML Schema validation.

In this study, the various employability skills that may likely influence performance of engineering students in campus placement were identified. An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model was developed for predicting probability of placement based on employability skills. Identified 22 employability skills were validated by stakeholders and group into four major employability skills. Aptitude, Communication, Technical & Personality skill were used as input variable and success/failure in campus placement considered as output variable. The sample of 362 final year students from technical institutes affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur were used to analyze by using SPSS version 20 & develop the model. As per result of the research work, all employability skills have positive moderate correlation with probability of placement. It means institute needs to change their traditional focus & make special efforts to help their students for developing competencies that best foster Employability.

The Indian Government is indulging with the welfare, social Justice and empowerment of each segment of the society. Basic purpose of the policies, programmes, law and institution of the Indian welfare system is to bring the target groups into the mainstream of growth development by making them self-reliant and independent. Indian family welfare program is a centrally sponsored scheme, implemented by the State governments within the framework of detailed guidelines and norms developed by the Central Government. Marketing is the process of communicating the values of a service to potential customers. Due to ineffective approach of marketing public services are often slow to respond to users’ demands about what services should be available, about when and where they should be provided, and about what standards of staff behavior, information provision, accommodation and service outcomes are acceptable to the public. Social Marketing is considered the marketing practice dealing with social problems and potential solutions in the commercial sphere. Those works that do so are frequently quite uncritical of existing marketing practice, tending to assume that public services should be promoted as commercial marketing practice rather than to communicate it. Therefore, it is a sincere attempt to explore and to focus the present state of marketing of family welfare programmes in Rajasthan and hurdles faced by the health functionaries and health workers in the provision of health and family welfare services in Rajasthan.

The present paper is an attempt to understand the educational development, the age and sex pattern, occupational and economic structure at household level of Gujjaran Mohalla which is a caste based segregated mohalla inhabited by Gujjar caste, one of the oldest mohalla of Hisar city. The present work involves the use of various natures of data and maps collected from different sources from both published and unpublished categories. Secondary information is gathered from literatures, historical records, Google earth image, etc. The primary data has been generated through a census household survey carried on October, 2014 in the Gujaran Mohalla. The socio-economic survey of a total of 47 households was carried out through canvassing of structured questionnaires. Maps have been prepared to show the location, cultural setting and land use. The literacy rate has been computed excluding age group 0-6 year’s population. Further, literate’s population are divided into pre-primary, primary, middle, matric, senior secondary, and higher education. Sopher’s disparity index, modified by Kundu and Rao (1985) has been used to assess the gender disparity in level of literacy. The work force in the present study includes both the main and marginal workers. Gujjars have shown good social development and moderate to low economic development. Inspite of significant diversification in case of occupational structure, they have shown very low level of social interaction with other castes in the society.
