Dr. Amit Arora holds B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) and Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, United States. After graduation he worked at IBM India, Pune as Associate System Engineer. He is a Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar). He has made significant research contributions to the fields of Numerical modeling of joining processes, Friction stir welding, Heat transfer and visco-plastic flow.
