Dr. Kim San Tangholds a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Alberta. He worked as a research fellow at the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders of the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Centre in Canada prior to joining the School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia as a lecturer. He received several national and international awards such as a scholarship award from the International Society of Neurochemistry, and the ‘Focus on Stroke’ Postdoctoral Fellowship Award from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. His main research interest focuses on the mechanisms underlying the brain cell death in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and stroke.
