Abstract

Screen fatigue and declining deep reading comprehension among adolescents necessitate transformative literacy approaches that connect emotional well-being with ecological awareness. This study formulates a pedagogical framework and systematic book curation model to integrate didactic bibliotherapy with Education for Sustainable Development Research approach combined with thematic content analysis, the research implemented a Three-Phase Curation Protocol to evaluate forty-five adolescent books, resulting in a finalizes corpus of seventeen representative works mapped onto the Sustainable Development Goals. Findings reveal that adolescent literature offers rich narrative entry points when structured through a Tripartite Reflective Prompting Framework. This framework guides students progressively through affective self-resonance, critical social empathy, and transformative action for sustainability. The resulting card architecture operationalizes textual excerpts, anchor trigger words, and multi-level prompts into a tactile learning medium. This study advances bibliotherapy from clinical counseling to inclusive classroom pedagogy, equipping educators, librarians, and curriculum designers with practical, evidence-based tool to cultivate critical empathy, mitigate digital fatigue, and inspire sustainable commitments in secondary education.
