An Exploratory Factor Analysis on the Structural and Operational Factors in Agri-Business Last-Mile Logistics in Davao City

Abstract
Last-mile logistics is an integral and key component of agribusiness supply chain which influences the efficient and reliable customer delivery while facing various structural and operational challenges in an urban setting. The study aims to ascertain the underlying factors that influence agribusiness last-mile logistics. It employs Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) where the data was gathered from 280 agribusiness retailers located in six key public markets in Davao City using both cluster and random sampling. The data was analyzed using principal component analysis extraction method and varimax rotation method with kaiser normalization. The results showed that four key drivers of logistics related challenges in the agribusiness industry, including collaborative digital logistics capability, institutional and policy support, environmental sustainability and waste control, and transport infrastructure and disruption resilience. The findings highlight two novel findings which includes that logistics challenges in agri-business is multidimensional and contextually, the study also indicates that regardless of the size of the organization, the strategic importance of digital collaboration influences last-mile logistics in agri-business.
