Abstract

This study investigates the complex dynamics of river sedimentation along the Naam River and its cascading consequences for human populations in Lakes State and Western Equatoria. The primary research objectives are to assess the physical causes of sedimentation, evaluate the socio-economic impacts on local riparian communities, and identify existing community-led mitigation strategies. Understanding the delicate balance between hydrological systems and human livelihood is paramount in modern water resource management, echoing principles outlined in contemporary environmental flow frameworks.
