Abstract
Introduction: Suicide is a major public health concern globally, with rising rates in Nairobi, Kenya. This study of 224 suicide cases from 2020-2021 reveals that young males, aged 20-39, are most affected, with poisoning and hanging as common methods. The findings emphasize the urgent need for targeted mental health and suicide prevention strategies.
Objectives; The study aims to analyze the age and gender distribution of suicide victims in Nairobi, identify the most common methods of suicide, and propose recommendations for effective suicide prevention strategies based on the findings.
