The Philippine National Police Crime Prevention Efforts, Collaboration, And Perceived Community Security and Safety

The Philippine National Police (PNP) crime prevention efforts, collaboration, and the perceived community safety and security in a selected Cavite City barangay were the focus of this study. It looked at the degree of PNP involvement in crime prevention initiatives, collaboration, and perceived community safety and security, as well as the notable variations across barangays. The survey included 376 participants from the ten barangay that were chosen, and it used a quantitative descriptive comparative methodology. The results showed that the PNP’s crime prevention efforts such as police presence and visibility, crime prevention programs, and information sharing, were highly effective. This suggests that the PNP’s prevention strategies are correctly implemented and help to lower the number of crime incidents. Similarly, the PNP’s level of collaboration, which includes community engagement and partnership, as well as its partnership with civil society organizations and other stakeholders, was high, indicating that police-community collaboration is carried out well. Residents appear to feel comfortable and have a favorable opinion of police services, as evidenced by the high level of perceived community security and safety as well as trust and confidence in the PNP. Philippine National Police initiatives are consistently effective in all study areas, as seen by the results, which also showed no significant differences in the degree of crime prevention efforts, teamwork, and perceived community security and safety when grouped according to barangay. A sustainable community-based action plan was suggested in light of the findings in order to improve the execution and efficacy of PNP crime prevention and cooperation initiatives in Cavite City.
