Online Tertiary Teaching and Learning: New Models for Leadership and Organization in Higher Education

Globally, both online distance and offline face-to-face (f2f) tertiary teaching and learning (T&L) transform the societies and economies of different countries. Tertiary T & L refers to education beyond secondary school and includes colleges, universities, and vocational institutions that offer online instruction. Tertiary T&L has been contributing to the economic advancement of various countries. This study aims to explore the standards and impact of online tertiary-level T&L on the economic growth of Bangladesh, an emerging economy, and further evaluate the effect of online tertiary education on its overall development. The paradox of campus-based T&L, in contrast to the distance-based online T&L modality, has broken down. Thus, tertiary-level academic institutions have now begun using tactics to connect budding online tertiary T & L with program development efforts. The debate about online teaching and learning now appears—or ought to appear—at the executive level and across other levels of tertiary T&L systems, and it deserves thorough examination.
