Abstract

Nursing self-efficacy plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and influencing patient satisfaction. This study aimed to determine the relationship between nursing self-efficacy and patient satisfaction with nursing care quality as perceived by discharged patients using a descriptive predictive quantitative research design. Data were collected from 81 eligible discharged patients through standardized Likert-scale questionnaires measuring nurse self-efficacy in caring and professional situations and patient satisfaction with nursing care quality. Descriptive statistics, mean analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used to examine relationships among variables and identify predictors of patient satisfaction. Results showed that nurses demonstrated very high levels of self-efficacy, with patients perceiving them as competent, compassionate, responsive, and professional. Patient satisfaction with nursing care quality was rated as excellent, particularly in areas related to nurses’ skills and competence, prompt response to patient needs, and the provision of a restful environment. Regression analysis revealed that patient-related factors such as length of hospital stay and frequency of hospitalization significantly influenced satisfaction levels, emphasizing the importance of effective discharge planning and continuity of care. The study concludes that high nursing self-efficacy is strongly associated with increased patient satisfaction, highlighting the need for continuous professional development, patient-centered care strategies, and efficient hospital management practices to sustain high-quality nursing care outcomes.
