Abstract

This study examines how enhanced features of petrol-powered vehicles can influence the creation of a sustainable automotive market in Malaysia. With the automotive sector moving to a greener form of transportation, petrol-driven cars will not be ignored as they are cheap and have a highly developed, robust refueling infrastructure. This paper is concerned with the measurement of fuel efficiency improvements, emission reduction technologies, and hybrid and environmentally friendly integration systems as independent variables. Quantitative research was adopted through a structured questionnaire that was administered to 300 respondents in central region of Malaysia. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS Version 25 to perform descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression on the collected data. The findings indicate that there exist strong, positive correlations between the independent variables and the sustainable automotive marketplace (r = 0.668 to r = 0.752, p < 0.01). According to regression analysis, the overall fit of the model (F = 181.211, p < 0.001) explains 64.7% of the variance (R² = 0.647). The strongest predictor of a sustainable automotive marketplace was hybrid and eco-friendly integration technology (β = 0.419, p < 0.001), followed closely by emission reduction technology (β = 0.274, p < 0.001) and fuel efficiency improvements (β = 0.205, p < 0.001). These results demonstrate that petrol engine innovations serve as a critical bridging solution towards a more sustainable automotive future in Malaysia.
