Abstract
This study examined the effect of performance appraisal feedback on the relationship between performance appraisal and employee performance at the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment Abuja. A systematic questionnaire was employed in the study to gather primary data. From a population of 1820 employees, a sample of 328 respondents was selected using a stratified random sampling technique, and 300 questionnaires were returned. For analysis, we used exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, partial least squares structural equation modelling, and descriptive statistics. The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment Abuja personnels' performance is positively correlated with performance appraisal, according to the findings. Additionally, the indirect impact, also known as the moderating effect, showed that performance appraisal feedback does not moderate the relationship between performance appraisal and employees' performance at the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment. In order to provide useful feedback, the study suggested that the performance appraisal feedback be enhanced and revised. Additionally, employees should get written comments from the Federal Ministry of Industry regarding their performance reviews.
