Abstract
This research study determined the business performance of government assisted small scale enterprises (GASSE) in Camarines Norte. The study used descriptive-correlational method and survey questionnaire in data gathering with 32 respondents. Percentage technique, weighted average, Somer’s delta and ranking were utilized.
The findings are as follows: 1) Majority of small-scale enterprises are sole-proprietorship; 2) Five percent or more in sales increase due to repeat purchases. Gross profit margin in terms of company’s earnings covered the overhead costs, taxes and others. The cost of storing the product and product spoilage only accounts to two percent and 75 percent or more are loyal customers; 3) There is no significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and the business performance of the GASSE; 4) It revealed that the unreliable and unpredictable sources of suppliers is the main factor affecting their performance; 5) The proposed strategies was designed to address the key issues.
The SMEs may adapt the theoretical paradigm of this study to improve their business performance.
