Diagnosing Land Administration System of Bangladesh: Search for Way-Out

Abstract

This paper talks about the land administration system in Bangladesh. Through the discussion, it takes account of the land administration history of Indian subcontinent and Bangladesh. It tries to trace out the root of all the problems in our land administration system. Side by side it questions the role of whole administration by pointing out the facts of corruption. This paper also discusses the gaps in our statutes regarding land administration. Where it suggests some mechanisms to meet the gaps by fixing the complications of administration and amending the necessary statutes. Bangladesh needs to address these changes to reduce court cases regarding land conflicts. And that’s why the aim of this research is to find out the loopholes in the present statutes regarding current land administration system. In fact the work aspires to demonstrate the administrative gaps in the whole system. The main objective of the paper is to improvise a hassle free, equal and efficient land administration system in Bangladesh. For this Bangladesh needs to go through some technical, legal and policy changes. Hence this paper emphasizes to integrate the required changes to build a better land administration system.
