Abstract

ABSTRACT
This study entitled “Employability Skills, Technical Competence, Learning Engagement, and Work Immersion Performance of Students”, examined the relationship among employability skills, technical competence, learning engagement, and work immersion performance of Grade 12 Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) students in a Senior High School in Negros Inland Region for school year 2026-2027. Using a descriptive-correlational research design, data were collected through a validated questionnaire and work immersion performance records. The findings revealed that respondents displayed strong employability skills; showed very high technical competence in accuracy, safety, and adherence to procedures; displayed a very high level of learning engagement, showing strong behavioral discipline, emotional motivation, and cognitive reflection, though sustaining focus throughout tasks remains an area for improvement to further maximize workplace learning outcomes; achieved an outstanding level of work immersion performance, demonstrating uniform excellence, strong mastery of required competencies, and consistent readiness for workplace tasks with minimal variation across the group; students’ employability skills did not statistically influence or predict their performance in the SHS work immersion program. Their ability to perform tasks accurately and skillfully did not automatically translate into better outcomes during their work immersion, and although students showed high levels of behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement in their learning, their actual performance in work immersion was influenced more by external factors than by their own engagement levels.
