Abstract

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is rapidly transforming the healthcare industry, with UiPath emerging as a leading platform for intelligent automation. As healthcare systems strive to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver patient-centric services, RPA offers a compelling solution by automating repetitive, rule-based tasks across administrative and clinical domains. This paper explores the evolving role of UiPath RPA in healthcare, drawing on recent literature and real-world case studies from 2024 to 2025.
UiPath bots are now widely deployed in areas such as insurance claims processing, electronic health record (EHR) management, laboratory information systems, pharmacy operations, and telemedicine workflows. These implementations have demonstrated measurable improvements in turnaround time, error reduction, compliance monitoring, and staff productivity. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) with RPA further enhances its capabilities, enabling predictive analytics, intelligent decision-making, and proactive resource allocation.
Despite its promise, RPA adoption in healthcare faces several challenges. Data security and privacy risks, interoperability with legacy IT systems, organizational resistance, and ethical concerns remain significant barriers. Addressing these issues requires robust governance frameworks, strategic change management, and transparent deployment practices.
Looking ahead, the concept of agentic orchestration—where autonomous bots collaborate across departments to manage end-to-end healthcare processes—represents the next frontier in digital transformation. UiPath RPA is no longer just a tool for task automation; it is evolving into a strategic enabler of intelligent, scalable, and resilient healthcare ecosystems.
This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of UiPath RPA’s current applications, challenges, and future directions, positioning it as a cornerstone of modern healthcare strategy. Through a blend of literature review, problem analysis, proposed solutions, and real-world examples, we highlight how UiPath RPA can drive both short-term efficiency and long-term innovation in healthcare delivery.
