Abstract

This study examined the relationship between human resource management (HRM) practices and employee commitment among employees of selected non-sectarian schools in Davao City and determined the influence of HRM practices on employee commitment. Using a quantitative descriptive-correlational design, data were collected from 150 employees through validated and adapted survey questionnaires. Mean, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (Pearson r), and simple linear regression were employed for data analysis.
Results revealed high levels of both HRM practices and employee commitment, indicating favorable organizational practices and strong employee dedication. Statistical analyses showed a significant positive relationship between HRM practices and employee commitment, with HRM practices significantly influencing employee commitment. Among the HRM dimensions, training and development emerged as the strongest predictor. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening HR policies and professional development initiatives to sustain employee commitment and enhance organizational effectiveness in educational institutions
