Abstract
In teacher education programs where practicum is one of its components, cooperating teachers hold a highly influential and central position in equipping interns for the complex demands and real-world challenges of the classroom (Rasheed, 2025). Cooperating teachers play a very significant and pivotal role in shaping, molding, training, and mentoring the teaching interns as they progress in their professional development within educational institutions (Baluyos, Clarin, Bazar, Enerio, 2024). Through mentorship, cooperating teachers offer direct support and guidance to teaching interns, helping them navigate the complexities of classroom teaching. This mentorship goes beyond simple instruction, it involves building a professional relationship where the intern can learn, ask questions, make mistakes, and grow within a safe and supportive environment. By modeling effective teaching practices, cooperating teachers demonstrate what high-quality instruction looks like in real time. Interns are able to observe classroom management techniques, lesson planning strategies, differentiated instruction, and the ways experienced teachers respond to student needs. This live modeling serves as a powerful learning tool, often more impactful than theoretical knowledge alone.
