Innovative Resource Management and Career Readiness among Hospitality Management Students in Selected Higher Education Institutions in Rizal Province: Basis for a Proposed Sustainable Contextualized Development Initiative

Globally, the hospitality and tourism industry serves as a key driver of economic growth, requiring a workforce that is skilled, competent, and aligned with international standards. In the Philippines, this sector is a national priority, and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are tasked with producing graduates who meet industry demands. However, a persistent gap exists between academic preparation and workplace requirements, indicating that merely offering hospitality programs is insufficient. Effective and innovative management of institutional resources—including facilities, technology, faculty, materials, funds, and industry partnerships—is critical to bridging this divide. In Rizal Province, where tourism is rapidly expanding, and numerous schools offer Hospitality Management courses, limited research has been conducted on how resource management directly influences student readiness for employment. This study addresses this gap by evaluating current practices and their relationship to student preparedness.
