Abstract

Access and opportunities for enhancing the religiosity of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Malaysia are often neglected, creating a dilemma in contemporary da'wah discourse. This issue becomes more critical when examining the existing social and spiritual infrastructure, which is clearly not inclusive, leaving a significant portion of this community marginalized from mainstream religious narratives. Past studies, unfortunately, have failed to offer a comprehensive conceptual framework for integrating the PWD perspective into da'wah. Therefore, this paper employs conceptual analysis and a critical literature review to construct a more structured framework of understanding. Preliminary findings suggest three main themes: first, the need for adaptive da'wah that is not merely rhetorical; second, the recognition of PWDs' religious agency as subjects, not passive objects; and third, the importance of deconstructing institutional barriers within religious institutions. The implications are clear: a profound reform in da'wah approaches is necessary to ensure inclusivity for PWDs in enhancing their religiosity in Malaysia.
