Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether implementing the philosophical meaning of the ethno-bio-educational, ergonomic-based Janger dance can improve health governance and quality. The approach used was participatory ergonomics, ensuring community involvement from the planning stage through implementation. A quasi-experimental study with a randomized pre- and posttest group design was applied, involving 32 Janger dancers as subjects. The results showed an increase in: (1) understanding of health governance by 16.64%, (2) caring attitudes toward health governance by 16.75%, and (3) health quality as seen from a decrease in musculoskeletal complaints by 22.61%, fatigue by 18.08%, and stress due to learning by 16.79%. The conclusion is that implementing the philosophical meaning of the ethno-bio-educational, ergonomic-based Janger dance can improve community understanding and caring attitudes toward health governance and has implications for improving health quality.
