Implementation of Digitalization and Adaptability of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Industry

Abstract
The rapid advancement of digital technologies has transformed the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, requiring organizations to strengthen their adaptability to remain competitive. This study aimed to determine the level of implementation of digitalization and adaptability in the FMCG companies in Negros Occidental. Specifically, it assessed the level of digitalization implementation, identified significant differences in respondents' perceptions based on demographic and organizational profiles, and determined the relationship between digitalization implementation and adaptability. The study used a quantitative research design using a descriptive-correlational approach. Data were collected from employees of selected FMCG companies in Negros Occidental using a validated survey questionnaire. The findings of the study revealed that digitalization implementation was generally high, while adaptability was assessed as highly adaptable. Significant differences in digitalization perceptions were found based on respondents' position, whereas no significant differences were observed across age, sex, educational attainment, years of service, company size, or company type. Moreover, a strong positive and statistically significant relationship was found between digitalization implementation and organizational adaptability. The study concludes that greater implementation of digitalization enhances adaptability in FMCG companies. These findings provide valuable insights for business leaders and policymakers in formulating strategies that strengthen digital transformation, improve workforce readiness, and enhance organizational resilience and long-term competitiveness.
