Abstract
This phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of national-winning teacher-coaches in their journey toward achieving success in national sports competitions during the academic year 2025–2026. It specifically examined how teacher-coaches experienced and interpreted their coaching journeys, the challenges they encountered, and the factors that enabled them to attain and sustain national-level success. Using a phenomenological research design, the study gathered and analyzed the experiences of national-winning teacher-coaches to identify the meanings and patterns underlying their coaching journeys. The findings revealed that sustained coaching success extends beyond technical expertise and is shaped by enduring commitment to athletes, resilience in overcoming challenges, continuous professional growth, and a strong sense of purpose. The experiences of the participants further demonstrated that coaching involves not only the pursuit of athletic achievement but also mentorship, service, and holistic athlete development. These findings suggest that effective coaching is a long-term commitment that requires dedication, perseverance, adaptability, and selfless service. The study provides insights for educational leaders, sports administrators, policymakers, and aspiring coaches in strengthening institutional support, enhancing professional development opportunities, and developing coaching practices that promote both athletic excellence and the holistic development of athletes.
