Sola Fajana is a full professor in the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resource Management at the University of Lagos. He also facilitate at the University of Lagos Business School.
Biography
Sola Fajana, B.Sc. (Ife), M.Sc. (Lagos), Ph.D. (Lagos) is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (FCIPM), Fellow of the Academy of Management Nigeria (FAMN), Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), and Fellow, Institute of Entrepreneurs (FIoE). He is a Council Member of the Nigerian Labour and Employment Relations Association; and member of the International Labour and Employment Relations Association based at the International LabourOrganisation (ILO) in Geneva. He is a member of Emerald Literati, United Kingdom.
A certified Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Trainer of the International TrainingCentre (ILO) Turin, Italy and Geneva, was educated also at the University of Sussex, Brighton, UK. He also received professional training at Harvard University, George Meany Centre, in Maryland, United States, and Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria, South Africa.
Professor Fajana has travelled on conference visits, accreditation, international visitors’ programmes, and research and publications collaborations as editor of journals and conference papers, online and physical convocation and keynote addresses, and kindred academic and professional services across all the five continents of the world. He consults for two major agencies of the United Nations on labour and social issues.
In his academic and professional career, Professor Fajana has jointly or singly supervised over 140 masters’ theses and 11 doctoral works. He received an award from the National Universities Commission in 2012 for co-supervising the best thesis in 2009 in the field of administration throughout the Nigerian university system. He has authored/co-authored over 150 scholarly publications in his academic and professional discipline. He is well-cited on Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Academia among others.
Professor Sola Fajana is on the Governing Board of several secondary and tertiary institutions and he is currently the Chairman, Planning and Implementation Committee of the Proposed Vision University at Ikogbo, Igbesa, Nigeria.He was Vice-Chancellor at the Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Nigeria from 2011 to 2018.
Research Interest
SolaFajana’s works have been in the areas of labour and employment relations, labour market processes, human resource management, and research methodology.
