Biography
Dr. Sikiru Eniola was born on 5th October, 1962 in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State of Nigeria. He did my elementary schooling between 1967 and 1976. He attended the Teachers’ College, Oye Ekiti between 1978 and 1980. He had a stint in teaching at the secondary school level between 1980 and 1982 when He got an admission to study Islamic Studies and Education at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He had by B.A. Hons (ED) in August 1986 and M.A.Degree in October 1990. In between this period, He served in the one year mandatory Youth Corp scheme in the old Bendel State of Nigeria between 1986 and 1987. He was employed thereafter as a Graduate Assistant in February, 1988 at the Ekiti State University. He have been engaged in teaching and Research since 1988. Within the period, He got an award by the International Rotary Club to participate in the International Rotary Study Exchange programme. He was in the South West England and Cornwall in April 1992 for six months. He also served as a representative of the University Congregation on the University Governing Council of the Ekiti State University for two terms of eight years. This is apart from leading the University Academics Staff Association at the state and at the National level for several years.
In addition, He was nominated by the Federal Government of Nigeria to serve on a national Visitation Panel to the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos in 2015 to restore Industrial relations. In 2019, I was also nominated by the Ekiti State Government to serve on a Visitation Panel to the College of Health Science and Technology, Ijero Ekiti within the State in order to reposition the College.
Earlier in 2013, He served on one of the teams that toured all Nigerian Universities on the NEEDS’ Assessment programme jointly initiated by the Federal Government and the Universities’ Academic community. The reports of this National assignment brought in huge financial allocations that have remarkably transformed the infrastructure and the personnel of the Nigerian University system.
Moreover, since 1990, He have served in various capacities as a social worker in the community Association of the Ado Ekiti metropolis and the Ekiti State in general. Having obtained my PhD in June 2012, He have since been promoted to the professorial cadre as an Associate Professor. Presently, I’m on a leave of absence, serving as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Ekiti State of Nigeria on Tertiary Education.
